Committee proposes six-figure job to expand lecture hall at IVCC

The biggest lecture hall in Illinois Valley Community College is about to get bigger.
The college’s facilities committee thinks another row is needed in the lecture hall. They’re also suggesting a middle aisle for accessibility, a lower ceiling for better acoustics, and energy-efficient lighting. The improvements will cost over $600,000. They already have a company out of Chicago picked to do the job.
The full board of trustees still needs to approve the lecture hall expansion. Money would come from the state.
The expansion could be done by next fall semester.
