New budget passed few days before school year begins at IVCC

Posted by wlpo on August 13, 2015

Projected revenues are down for Illinois Valley Community College but so are expenses.

The IVCC trustees have passed a budget for this next school year with revenues of $33 million, a seven percent drop from last budget year. Expenses are predicted to $36 million which is nearly six percent less than last year. One big expenditure is nearly $1.5 million to finish a cyber café and student center. State money is paying for 3/4ths of the cost.

The college is balancing its budget by transferring money and dipping into reserves.
