Firefighters help children down from old railroad bridge in La Salle

Posted by wlpo on August 13, 2015

It’s natural to be adventurous as a kid but three children pushed the limits on the east side of La Salle.

La Salle police officers and firefighters were called out Tuesday night to the “mile long” railroad bridge over the I & M Canal for three 12-year-olds who needed help. Firefighters went out and got the kids after they had climbed down onto a lower support beam of the bridge.

The kids were fine but were given tickets for trespassing.
