Not only does the National Weather Service think we could get drenched Monday in the Illinois Valley, it also believes there’s a moderate risk of severe weather Monday night. A Flash Flood watch for LaSalle County starts at 1am. It does not include Bureau or Putnam Counties. The Weather Service says storms will develop over Minnesota and the Dakotas bringing heavy rainfall to northeast Illinois after 3am.
By Monday night, the Illinois Valley will have a significant risk for damaging winds, large hail…and possible tornados. By Monday night late, the Illinois Valley potentially could receive upwards of 3 inches of rain.
Moist unstable air has settled in overhead and is 1 ingredient for Monday’s expected weather.
