Storm leaves little damage last night

Posted by wlpo on June 21, 2015

Mother Nature whipped up some storm activity across northern Illinois Saturday night. Northeast LaSalle County was under a severe thunderstorm warning around 7pm, but it last only 30 minutes. The National Weather Service says a tree and some power lines were knocked down in the village of Lostant Saturday evening. Otherwise, no other damage was reported.

A Flash Flood warning was in effect in southern LaSalle County overnight, but has now expired.  A flood warning is still in effect on the Illinois River at Ottawa and LaSalle. The river was just inches above flood stage Saturday night in Ottawa. The Illinois is still  7 feet above flood stage at LaSalle. Daily chances of rain are forecast Monday through Friday.
