Voluntary evacuation issued in Marseilles due to rising Illinois River

Posted by wlpo on June 16, 2015

If you were affected by the 2013 flood in Marseilles, now may be a good time to seek higher ground.

A voluntary evacuation notice has been issued in Marseilles. As it stands now, the Illinois River in Marseilles is expected to stay a foot below the level that would require a mandatory evacuation.

If you do evacuate, you’re asked to call 795-2001 and leave a message with your name and address. If you stick around, the Marseilles Police Department says you should still make arrangements if and when evacuating becomes mandatory.
