Trees and power poles blown down in Mendota

Posted by wlpo on June 15, 2015

While there weren’t any thunderstorm or tornado watches or warnings, damage was done in Mendota.

Just before six Monday evening, a tree crashed into a house on 13th Avenue. Also a lane of Route 251 was closed because of downed tree branches and power poles. The damage was mainly in the south part of Mendota.

There was one tornado confirmed in the state Monday night and that was a funnel cloud that touched down in Will County near the town of Symerton.
