The votes are in and it’s official; Ottawa is getting $25,000 for new playground equipment.
The Ottawa Kiwanis won the ‘Legacy of Play’ Facebook voting contest put on by Kiwanis International. They won by getting the most votes out of all Kiwanis clubs across the country. The club will now receive $25,000 worth of playground equipment from Kiwanis partner Landscape Sculptures, Inc.
The Ottawa Kiwanis will use the new equipment for a new playground at Lincoln-Douglas Park along East Norris Drive. The space has already been set aside. The driving force behind the playground will be that any child could use it including one with disabilities.
