St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley is about to get bigger.
The hospital received final approval from the Illinois Department of Public Health to begin a $5.5 million two-phase project. The project will add over 4,000 square feet to the hospital, nearly doubling the size of its existing Emergency Room.
The first phase of the project will provide new exam rooms, an isolation exam room, and nursing station and support areas. The first phase is expected to be completed by this November.
The second phase will consist of renovation of the existing Emergency Room, featuring a new and much larger waiting room, a results pending area, and a family consultation room. The overall project is expected to be completed by May of 2016.
