Controversial superintendent resigning from Ottawa High School

Posted by wlpo on April 20, 2015

New leadership is needed at Ottawa High School.

Much maligned Superintendent Matt Winchester resigned during Monday night’s Ottawa High School Board meeting. According to the NewsTribune, Winchester is taking a job as assistant to the director at La Salle/Putnam County Educational Alliance for Special Education, or L.E.A.S.E in Ottawa. His last day at the high school will officially be June 30th.

Winchester says he was offered the job before the recent election and election results had nothing to do with leaving Ottawa High. He has been superintendent since 2010.
