Illinois Valley principal and county sheriff honored in Congress

Posted by wlpo on April 18, 2015

Having your name called on the floor of the Congress is a pretty big deal. That’s what happened to a school principal and a county sheriff from the Illinois Valley.

Sara McDonald, principal of Northview School in Peru, was honored by Congressman Adam Kinzinger for being named Elementary School Principal of the Year by the Illinois Principals Assocation. Tom Templeton, La Salle County Sheriff, was honored by Kinzinger for being elected president of the Illinois Sheriff’s Association.

Kinzinger will give McDonald and Templeton a copy of their Congressional resolutions Monday in Ottawa.
