New leads reported in Zywicki case

Posted by wlpo on April 5, 2015

The Tammy Zywicki case is now 2 years older than the 21-year old New Jersey woman who disappeared near Utica in 1992. Channel 5 Chicago reports Illinois State Police have new leads thanks to cold case specialists based in Philadelphia. Vidocq investigators and forensic experts gave State Police 6 new leads, one of which Master Sergeant Jeff Padilla says was never properly vetted.

Zywicki disappeared 2 miles east of the I-80 Utica exit while returning to college in Iowa. Her body was found 9 days later along I-44 near Springfield, Missouri. She had been raped and stabbed.
