Investigation continues into fire near downtown Princeton

Posted by wlpo on February 16, 2015

A few cats were killed in a fire that had over 50 firefighters responding in Princeton.

The initial 9-1-1 call came around 9 Saturday morning about a two-story home on fire at 103 East Marion Street, not far from the Apollo Theater. Lt. Luke Davis says at one point firemen had to pull back to avoid the main floor of the house collapsing. Nearly a dozen departments responded and Davis says it was a big help in the bitter cold.

Crews were on scene for about eight hours. The state fire marshal’s office was called to investigate the cause of the fire.

No one was home when the fire started.
