Nelson asked about Med Marijuana program

Posted by wlpo on January 18, 2015

Seneca farmer and former Illinois Farm Bureau President Phil Nelson is acting director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture. The Springfield State Journal Register reports Nelson wants to modernize the state fairs at Springfield and Duquoin. Repairs to buildings, says Nelson is an immediate need.

Nelson was on “Classic Hits 103-9 WLPO” Saturday. John Small asked him if Governor Rauner has any reservations about implementing the “Medical Marijuana” program in the state.   Nelson said he hasn’t talked with the Governor about that. He said his agency has done a lot of work to prepare for it, but admits he doesn’t know where it falls on the docket.  It’s in the Governor’s hands to determine how it will be addressed and when to move forward on it.
