Popular La Salle Christmas light display dark this season
Posted by wlpo on December 16, 2014
If you wonder why there isn’t as bright a glow coming from the east end of La Salle as there normally is this time of the year it’s because Scott Weber has a busy schedule.
For the second straight year, the Weber Christmas Show in the subdivision across from Senica’s Oak Ridge is dark. Weber says his job and other commitments meant not having enough time to put together the always popular light display. He is vowing to bring the display back next year.
Between 2007 thru 2012, the Weber light display drew thousands of visitors who watched a light show synced to Christmas music. The display in those six years helped to raise over $40,000 and 11,000 pounds of food for the Illinois Valley Food Pantry.
