Other Illinois cities besides Chicago see demonstrations after Ferguson announcement

Posted by wlpo on November 25, 2014

CHICAGO (AP) – It’s not just big cities that are having demonstrations reacting to a Missouri grand jury’s decision not to indict a police officer in Ferguson.

In Peoria, about two dozen protesters had a peaceful vigil outside the U.S. attorney’s office. Some held signs that said “Justice for Michael Brown, We are all Ferguson.”

A vigil is planned Tuesday at a Springfield church. The pastor says he hopes it fosters respect between law enforcement and the community.
