Sand mines has Utica board debating whether or not to lower property taxes

Posted by wlpo on November 13, 2014

Love it or hate it, there’s no debating the sand mining boom is helping Utica’s revenues.

According to the NewsTribune, Utica’s tax base increased by over $3 million in the past year mainly because of sand mine development. The board didn’t make a tax decision Wednesday night .
