Streator Police track down murderer who they say failed to give his whereabouts

Posted by wlpo on November 12, 2014

A convicted murderer from Streator is back behind bars.

Last month, Streator Police asked for the public’s help in finding 79-year-old Richard Hellerman who allegedly didn’t give police his new address after being released from prison for murdering his wife. Hellerman was found last week in Streator and arrested for failing to register his information with police.

He’s at the La Salle County Jail and being held on $20,000 bond. Hellerman is due back in court Thursday.
