Peru officials petition against the closing of the Comcast office

Posted by wlpo on October 7, 2014

The Comcast office in Peru is closing and there is nothing your city officials can do to stop it. The company recently announced that the office would close October 30. Instead of paying your bills in person, you’re being encouraged to pay online or through the mail.

Peru Mayor Scott Harl says he and several other local mayors met with Comcast representatives and were told that the decision to close the office wasn’t made locally.

Harl says four people will lose their jobs but about 20 technicians will continue to work out of Peru.

The city council is sending Comcast a petition protesting the closing anyway.
