Plans still in place to replace Route 178 Bridge in Utica

Your input is needed on replacing the aging Route 178 Bridge in Utica.

The Illinois Department of Transportation is hosting a public hearing from 4-7pm Thursday, September 18 in the Utica Village Hall. IDOT has plans in the next few years to replace the bridge and build a new one to take you across the Illinois River. They’ve already said the plan is to keep the current bridge open while they build a new one.

IDOT is also looking to soon replace the Route 89 Bridge in Spring Valley.
