Medical marijuana on the agenda in Oglesby

A medical marijuana cultivation center in Oglesby is on the fast track.

The Oglesby City Council, Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Commission are all meeting Monday to vote on a permit and zoning change for a cultivation center near Love’s Travel Stop. Green Thumb Industries out of the Quad Cities wants to grow the marijuana.

The state has the final say where a cultivation center goes in the Illinois Valley. They’re expected to start sifting through applications next month.
