Time to rock out in the Illinois Valley

It’s finally here! Rockstar Energy Drink’s Uproar Festival is happening Saturday in Peru at the Illinois Valley Regional Airport.

The music starts around 2:45 with co-headliner Buckcherry hitting the stage just before 6. Seether is scheduled to go on at 8 followed by Godsmack. In all ten bands will play at the airport today as part of the latest Lou’s La Grotto “Concert for a Cause”.

Tickets are $55 at the gate. Some of the proceeds will go to Centennial Elementary School in Streator.

There was a chill in the air in the Illinois Valley

How chilly did it get in your neck of the woods Friday morning?

According to the National Weather Service out of Romeoville, the low temperature dipped down to 48 in Sheridan and Paw Paw. The coolest it got at the WLPO studios in Oglesby was 49, the same low for Morris. Some spots in McHenry County almost fell to 40 degrees.

Normal lows for mid-August are in the low to mid-60s.
