Peru is stocking up on road salt

Posted by wlpo on July 29, 2014

It’s hard to tell how much snow you’ll be shoveling in six months but Peru’s Public Works Department is getting prepared. The city is buying 1600 tons of road salt ahead of the winter.

They have 1400 tons on hand but as Public Works co-superintendent Jeff King explained, they used 2500 tons of salt last winter.

They’re paying $104 per ton.
