Follow the signage at Starved Rock State Park or you could be out over a hundred dollars.
Conservation Police Sgt. Hank Frazier says between Friday and Sunday his department handed out nearly 130 tickets to hikers being in restricted areas. These tickets are a minimum of $120.
Frazier says there are still several trails with hanging limbs and branches. He says a tree fell across a bridge Sunday at the park, breaking a railing.
Besides all the tickets for people using closed trails, conservation officers also handed out over a dozen drug tickets and a handful of tickets for having alcohol on the trails over the weekend.
