ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) – A man suspected of two murders including one at the Interstate 39 rest stop near Paw Paw has pleaded not guilty.

Terence Doddy has been charged with first-degree murder as part of a 15-count Winnebago County grand jury indictment. Other charges include robbery and possession of a stolen vehicle.

The 36-year-old Doddy is charged with the June 30 killing of high school friend Todd Hansmeier. He is a suspect in the July 1st killing of 44-year-old Tonya Bargman of Monticello at the southbound I-39 rest stop near Paw Paw.

Doddy was arrested July 4th after a police chase near Beloit. Police say he was driving Bargman’s car.

A public defender was appointed for Doddy, who is being held without bond.
