One person injured in rollover accident near Cedar Point

It’s important to keep your car shiny side up.   Riley Sweetland of Tonica was taken to Illinois Valley Community Hospital after a rollover accident Friday morning east of Cedar Point.

La Salle County Sheriff’s deputies and the Tonica Fire Department responded.  Sweetland wasn’t ticketed.

Peru woman accused of having heroin

An investigation into heroin in Peru left a home searched and a woman facing a felony drug charge. Janella Osborn was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance Wednesday at her home on 11 ^th Street.

Peru Police say they found heroin in her home. Osborn was taken to the La Salle County Jail. 

Update: fatal crash south of Mendota under investigation

Three of the people killed in a crash south of Mendota were from Mendota.

La Salle County Coroner Jody Bernard says 22-year-old Robert Watson, 24-year-old Gregory Smith and 22-year-old Daniel Smith of Mendota and 20-year-old Brenda Hampton of West Brooklyn were pronounced dead at the scene.

19-year-old Amanda Blackwell of Plainfield was taken to Mendota Community Hospital and then St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria where she was listed as fair.

The one-car, rollover crash was reported just after 4:30am Thursday on East 3^rd Road near the fairgrounds.
