Cherry Fire station being rebuilt

Posted by wlpo on April 27, 2014

A year after voters approved borrowing money to build a new fire station, the old Cherry Fire Station was torn down.

The old station was turned to rubble last week. The new fire station is going up in the same spot. Construction should be done this summer.

In the mean time, Cherry firefighters are storing trucks in a farm shed just outside of town.

Last April, voters said yes to issuing $100,000 in bonds to build a new fire station.
