Area libraries to receive grants

Your local library has a lot of books but it also has digital materials like DVDs and CD’s. You should be able to find more books and materials at several area libraries thanks to a grant through the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office.

159 libraries are receiving “Another Back to Books” Grant. Illinois Valley Community College is one. It will receive $5,000. The Mautino Library in Spring Valley is receiving $3,000, the Putnam County Library District is receiving $5,000, the Reddick Library is receiving $2,400 and the Peru Public Library is receiving $4,000.

The grants must be used to buy books, learning CDs and DVDs and other educational materials.
