CVS plans to break ground April 17

By this time next month, a demolition crew will be preparing to raze the old Jewel shopping market in Peru.  Developers of a new CVS Pharmacy recently went before the Planning Commission and Zoning Board to talk about the new store they’re building on the southeast corner of Route 251 and Shooting Park Road.

The pharmacy already has a store in that shopping plaza but plans to build a new store in what’s now a parking lot.  They close on the property April 1.  They plan to break ground for the new building April 17, the same day they plan to begin demolition of just the grocery store portion of the shopping plaza.
