Tuition Hike Approved At IVCC

Posted by wlpo on February 14, 2014

The price of an education at Illinois Valley Community College is going up.

The IVCC Board of Trustees voted in favor of a 10 percent tuition jump starting with the summer semester.  The price per credit hour is going up from 93 to 103 dollars.  A full-time student at IVCC would pay over 33 hundred dollars per year.  The trustees also agreed to increase fees in 79 courses and decrease fees in 28 other classes.

Vice President of Business Services and Finance Cheryl Roelfsema says the increased tuition is a reaction to no additional state funding and lower property values.
