Teachers and board will talk today

Posted by wlpo on January 12, 2014

The level of anxiety may rise a bit if you’re affected by the Mendota Elementary teachers contract negotiations. Sarah Henkel, Co-President of the teachers union said a federal mediator has called both sides back at 2pm today to talk and hopefully, avoid a strike.

Henkel said the two sides can’t agree on insurance expense and the contract wording.

The talks will be in the administration offices. If the two sides can’t agree before Monday morning, Superintendent Dr. Kristin School could cancel classes.
