Utica Firefighter On The Mend After Scary Fall
Posted by wlpo on October 28, 2013
The next fire chief in Utica could be known after tonight.
The fire protection district’s trustees are expected to name a chief this week after former chief Gary Gbur resigned earlier this month saying there was “irreconcilable differences” between himself and the trustees.
The trustees had named Ed Rogers interim fire chief but he’s now recovering from a severe leg injury. Rogers was down in Missouri a two weekends ago when he fractured his leg. He’s being treated at Heartland Healthcare Center in Henry and will eventually head back to St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
