Peru Police arrest two for counterfeit money
Posted by wlpo on October 28, 2013
If you happened to find a wad of cash in the Peru Wal-Mart parking lot Friday, it’s not what it seems. Police say the 20-dollar-bills are counterfeit and they’re looking for a woman that picked them up Friday.
The fake bills are part of a larger investigation into two men accused of passing counterfeit bills at Wal-Mart. Mark Johnson and Dani Toure of Chicago were arrested Friday for forgery and obstructing justice. They were taken to the La Salle County Jail.
Meanwhile, officers are reviewing the surveillance video from Wal-Mart. If you found the fake money, please call the Peru Police.
