Families find support at “Out of the Darkness” Walk

The sun was shining on Baker Lake in Peru as teams of families and friends remembered the people they lost because of suicide.
The “Out of the Darkness” Community Walk Saturday gave people like Theresa Donahue of La Salle a chance to remember her brother Bob. Donahue says the show of support for her family and others is inspiring
Lindsay Anderson of Ottawa and her family circled Baker Lake in matching T-shirts with the words, “wish you were here.” She was walking for her uncle Tom.
Saturday’s walk was the second of its kind at Baker Lake. An estimated 200 people released balloons and walked a lap around the lake.
The walk also brought in more than $6,500 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
