Teens try dangerous prank

 Kewaunee County authorities are seeking charges against four teens accused of unlocking a bobcat cage at a zoo, allowing one bobcat to briefly escape. A Press-Gazette Media report says the suspects were identified using surveillance cameras and tips from social-media users. The suspects are a 17-year-old Algoma boy, two 17-year-old Algoma girls and a 17-year-old Forestville girl.

Parenting the second time

 Illinois officials are highlighting assistance for people going through child-rearing for the second time in light of Grandparents Day today. The Department on Aging said Friday that “Grandparents raising Grandchildren” tries to locate, assist, and promote awareness of grandparents and other relatives who are raising other family members’ children.

Bingo for IVCC athletics

Can bingo help stave off elimination for IVCC athletics?  Every Sunday this month will be IVCC Athletics Night at the new Jackpot Bingo in Peru. The bingo hall is on North Plank road where the OTB used to be.  A part of the proceeds this Sunday will go to the IVCC women’s tennis team. Doors open for bingo at 4:30.
