Major Surgery Planned For Injured L-P Teacher

The long road to recovery continues for L-P math teacher Matt Makeever.

According to family members, the 25-year old is scheduled to have facial reconstruction surgery this afternoon in Peoria.  He’s been at St. Francis Medical Center since July 20^th when he was hit in the left side of his head by part of a train along the La Salle riverfront.

Family members say Makeever is making steady progress and his doctors are pleased.
