Spring Valley man arrested on a warrant in Peru

          A felony drug charge for a man already wanted for theft.  Police arrested Gregory Burrell of Spring Valley Thursday afternoon in downtown Peru.  Burrell was wanted on a Bureau County warrant for theft.  He was additionally arrested for possession of a controlled substance and was taken to the La Salle County Jail.

Man flown to Peoria after motorcycle crash

          A motorcycle crash in Peru has a man hospitalized in Peoria.  It happened around 1am Saturday near where 9th Street in La Salle becomes 12th Street in Peru. 

          The man riding the motorcycle was flown to St. Francis Medical Center.  Peru Police haven’t given out is name as they continue to investigate. 

          Meanwhile, Adam Poole of La Salle was ticketed for driving while license suspended, having a motorcycle without a breath alcohol ignition interlock device, and failure to signal.  La Salle Police arrested him on 9th Street while responding to the crash.  Poole was taken to the La Salle County Jail.

Stabbing near Streator leaves two injured

          Two people are being treated for stab wounds after an attack at the Pines Motel in Streator. 

          Investigators believe a man living at the motel, William Reed, stabbed a man and a woman living in another room Friday night. 

          Police say Jerry Pitte and Angela Peck were each stabbed once by Reed.  They were taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. 

          Reed is being held in the La Salle County Jail for aggravated battery.
