Preliminary Rain Totals

Five inches of rain in 24 hours is a major rain event.  That’s what many towns in the listening got with this historic storm.

According to the National Weather Service, between Wednesday and Thursday morning, over 5.5 inches fell in Ottawa with well over 5 inches in Princeton, Oglesby, Sheridan, La Salle, Mendota and Marseilles.  Peru, Seneca, Hennepin, Streator and Utica all had around 4.5 inches of fresh rain.

Suburbs like Aurora and Naperville got well over 6 inches of rain according to the weather service.
