Do political “robocalls” bother you? Voters in Peru Township received a couple recorded messages on the eve of Election Day.
Call showing up on caller ID as originating from Washington D.C. featured messages from township candidates Eddie Mitchell and Travis Nelson. Those two along with Art Rigby and Mary Landsiedel are running as independents under a slogan of “Reform Peru Township”.
Nelson is challenging Democrat Mike Hocking for Peru Township Supervisor while Mitchell, Rigby and Landsiedel are looking for three of four available township trustee seats. They’re running against Democrats Douglas Bernabei, Jack Hyson, Donald “Barkey” Koehler and William Radtke along with Republican Chuck Studer.
Democrat Steve Weberski is running unopposed for Peru Township Clerk while Democrat Doug Biederstedt is unopposed for Peru Township Assessor.
