Another Winter storm due Tuesday

Posted by wlpo on February 24, 2013

Bureau and Putnam Counties are under a Winter storm Watch from midnight Monday night till midnight Tuesday.  The Quad Cities National Weather Service office expects 4 – 8 inches of snow in Princeton and Hennepin in that period with 30 mph winds.  A potentially strong Winter storm is poised to bring snow and a wintry mix to parts of Northern Illinois Tuesday.  The National Weather Service is saying  3 – 6 inches of snow could fall north of a line from Pontiac to Valparaiso with locally higher amounts possible. Winds will be gusting to 35 mph Tuesday causing blowing and drifting snow. South of that line an inch of snow is expected.  The storm is still developing and any change in the forecasted track or its intensity will have large implications for the amount and type of precipitation expected.
