Peru Candidate Upset Over Political Signage Crackdown

Posted by wlpo on February 21, 2013

You’ll notice more political signs as the April election draws nearer, especially at the corner of Shooting Park Road and Route 251 in Peru.

Travis Nelson, a candidate for Peru Township government says he’s been singled out by Peru’s building inspector for a sign on the southwest corner. Frank Taylor has asked Nelson to move the sign because he claims it is on state right of way.  Nelson claims it is not and that other election signs had been there but were not removed.  He thinks it’s personal.

Taylor and Mayor Scott Harl denied the allegations last night.
