La Salle officials moving forward with comprehensive plan

Posted by wlpo on February 18, 2013

Economic development, growth, infrastructure, whatever the project it will be included in La Salle’s comprehensive plan.  Updating the comprehensive plan has been a longtime coming.

The city council is ready to move it forward by hiring consultants and engineers.  Firms bidding for the job will be giving proposals Tuesday and Wednesday nights at city hall.  It’s part of an informal city council meeting.  Both nights, the proposals will begin at 6pm.

If you can’t make it, don’t worry.  They won’t be hiring a firm until later.

Posted by wlpo on February 18, 2013

It wasn’t easy, but twin doctors Jamil and Idries Abdur-Rahman survived the first leg of the new Amazing Race.

The twin doctors who helped thousands of patients in the Illinois Valley finished 8th out of 11 teams in the first show which had teams starting in Los Angeles before flying to Bora Bora.  Jamil did the first challenge where he jumped ten thousand feet from a helicopter.  Idries then struggled with the heat and finding a clue buried beneath sandcastles.  The twins then flipped over at least once after building a boat to get to the finish line.  Jamil actually lost his glasses in the water.

The twins had OB offices in Streator, Marseilles and Ottawa but announced in December that they were relocating to Waukegan.
