Posted by wlpo on January 26, 2013

The numbers are in from all of the 2012 deer hunting seasons in Illinois.   Hunters shot fewer deer last year than in 2011, with a total estimated just less than 181,000.

In Bureau County, hunters got less than 2500 total.  About 2,450 deer were shot in La Salle County and 911 in Putnam County.

Two of the top Illinois counties for deer harvesting were Fulton and Pike counties.
