State chipping in for Peru airport repairs

Posted by wlpo on January 23, 2013

The road leading to the Illinois Valley Regional Airport in Peru is a bumpy ride but at least the entrance is getting repaired.

The Illinois Department of Transportation is giving Peru nearly $249,000 to redo the entrance road and parking lot.  The city will have to pay about $28,000 towards the balance.

The state’s portion is coming from the IDOT’s State-Local Airport Improvement Program.  The funding was announced Wednesday.
