La Salle Library offers family night

           Need a reason to get out of the house with your children?  The La Salle Public Library is hosting a crafts making night Thursday.  From 6:30pm to 7:30pm children will be able to get a bag of supplies to create an alien.  Paint and glue will be involved.  Kids will be able to have their alien displayed at the library or they’ll be able to take them home.

          Family night is free.

Bus fire slows traffic in downtown Peru

           It was an exciting after-school bus ride for kids from Spring Valley.  A bus from Hall and JFK had to stop in downtown Peru because it was on fire. 

          It happened around 3:40pm Friday in front of Art Giese’s Tavern.  The few students that were on the bus made it off safely and were picked up by a replacement bus.

          The fire was put out quickly and the bus was towed away.  Traffic was briefly affected.
