Arrest Involving Ecstasy In Utica

Ecstacy was the drug of choice for an alleged dealer from Peru.

Members of TRIDENT arrested Adam Schaub yesterday in Utica after allegedly selling 20 Ecstasy pills to an undercover agent. Investigators say they’ve tracked Schaub for quite awhile before arresting him.

Besides Ecstasy, he’s accused of also having cannabis.  Schaub was arrested for a Class X felony of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and taken to the La Salle County Jail.

Grand Ridge Woman Hurt In Route 23 Crash

A woman from Grand Ridge was involved in a crash that shut down Route 23 traffic near Ottawa for about four hours.

Anna O’Dell was driving north on Route 23 south of Ottawa yesterday afternoon when she went into the southbound lane and hit a semi driven by Verne Taylor of Ancona.  After the initial collision, O’Dell smashed into a guardrail.

Both O’Dell and Taylor were taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.  The hospital doesn’t release condition reports.

The crash is still being investigated by the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office.

Woman Arrested For Setting La Salle Apartment Fire

A former La Salle woman is accused of starting a fire that left six families without a home.

Tricia Poff who now lives in El Paso, Illinois was in Ottawa court yesterday being charged with arson.  She’s accused of starting a neighbor’s apartment on fire on the evening of May 22nd on 3rd Street in La Salle.  La Salle Fire Chief Andy Bacidore immediately called the fire suspicious.

Poff’s bond was set at 50 thousand dollars.
