Peru Schools plan to leave shooting explanation to parents

Posted by wlpo on December 17, 2012

Have you talked to your young children about the shootings at the Connecticut elementary school?  Parents in the Peru Public School District have received a letter from Superintendent Mark Cross explaining how the district prepares for intruders.  He also says that the staff doesn’t plan to talk about the shootings specifically because they think it is up to the parents to figure out how best to explain it to their children.

Cross also reassures parents that Peru teachers are dedicated to keeping their children safe at school.
