Voter turnout better than expected in La Salle County

Posted by wlpo on November 7, 2012

The La Salle County Clerk is more than happy to say she was wrong.

JoAnne Caretto predicted a voter turnout for Tuesday’s election of 55 to 60%.  Instead the turnout was 66%.

Caretto says there were only minor machine problems early on but none that caused any ballots to be lost.  She says one of the bigger complaints was some precincts running out of privacy sleeves to put their ballots inside of.

Caretto says there were also plenty of voters going to their old polling places not knowing they changed during redistricting last year.
