Veterans to be remembered during Utica Veteran’s Parade Sunday

Posted by wlpo on November 3, 2012

Remember military veterans with the annual Utica Veteran’s Parade. The parade attracts veterans from all branches of service and will feature the Chicago Police Department Bag Pipe Band and two flyovers.

Sharron Weiden of the Utica American Legion says they want to remember the people who gave their lives for their country.

The parade begins at 1pm Sunday near the Utica Village Hall. From there the parade with travel north on Route 178 to Mill Street and eventually ends at Danny Carey Memorial Park for a service.

If you are a veteran and would like to participate, you can march or ride in a World War II cargo trunk or a trolley.

Weiden says this year’s parade is dedicated to Vietnam War veterans.
