Gas Prices Headed Towards Three Dollars A Gallon

Three dollar gas is within an hour’s drive of most of the Illinois Valley.

According to, the price at the pump in Bloomington-Normal has fallen to $2.99 to $3.07 for a gallon of unleaded gas.  The cheapest in the Illinois Valley is $3.31 a gallon at Sapp Brothers in Peru and Casey’s and Shell stations in Spring Valley.  All stations in the area have lowered gas prices below $3.40 a gallon.

The statewide average price for a gallon of unleaded is $3.48, below the national average of $3.55 a gallon.
